Why would you be in trouble? Why don't you have your own chair at the table? At my house, there are three of us, and there are three chairs at the table, one for me, and one for each of the other two. This is how it should be for you too, as a valued member of the house.
I know, I know. For years I have been pushing on this border, but they will not give. I can lay down in the chair, but as soon as my head gets above the table, Mom says sternly, "DON'T BE RUDE!" If I don't lay back down she stares at me in my eyes until I do.
